A roadworthy inspection for your motorcycle in Victoria covers safety essentials and compliance with VicRoads standards. It is not a general service, and you won’t be judged on how clean your oil is.

What Is Not Required In A Roadworthy

Here in Victoria, a motorbike roadworthy certificate has clear criteria that is easy to follow for your mechanic. Here is what to look out for, so you can be prepared.

What is NOT required to pass a motorcycle roadworthy:

  • Oil change

  • Logbook service

  • Engine tuning

  • Air filter replacements

  • Chain lube or sprocket upgrades

What Happens If Your Motorcycle Fails the RWC check?

If your bike doesn’t pass the inspection, we will provide you with a comprehensive, written list of what needs attention prior to re-booking. We offer affordable re-inspections and you have up to 14 days to get the issues corrected.

There is no obligation to get the repairs done with us. We simply provide you with the information. You can choose to fix the issues yourself or get them sorted out with another mechanic. We take pride in our commitment to transparency and honesty and we will never use a failed roadworthy check to try and sell you on unnecessary repairs.

Do You Need a Roadworthy Certificate to Sell a Motorcycle in Victoria?

In Victoria, the seller is responsible for providing a valid RWC when selling a registered motorcycle to a private buyer. This certificate must be issued within 30 days of the sale date. On the day of your booking, please drop in your motorcycle at 8am otherwise we may not be able to complete your inspection the same day.
